This book is the ultimate grammar resource available. It’s perfect for carrying around with you wherever you go or making use of time spent sitting on the toilet, thick but compact in size. If you reference this book while you sat on the toilet twice a day like a healthy person should be doing, you would be a real Japanese contender or if your like me and your always constipated because you live in Japan and eat too much rice, you could be a real champ.
This book is the most bang your going to get for your buck. I would recommend it after having finished the Genki Series. I have many language books and many I’m going to throw away because I will moving soon, but this one will always stay with me. Let this books be your “Japanese Bible” as my friend calls it.
If your having trouble putting your thoughts and ideas together into comprehensible sentences a dictionary of basic Japanese grammar is what you need.
- Thoroughly explained Japanese grammar
- Alphabetically organized, easy to navigate
- Several example sentences
- Written in Kanji and romanji for your reading convenience
You will notice a lot of similar grammatical expressions when your studying that are easy to be confused with each other. This books does a good job comparing the differences and making them clear to you. That is the number one reason I still open this book after having moved on to advanced grammar. It’s my go to resource for Japanese Grammar clarification.
It does seem quite expensive. The reason I put off buying it for so long. If it wasn’t for 2 good friends strongly recommended it and the numerous 5 star reviews on Amazon I wouldn’t have picked it up.
I would not recommend it to to those who are absolute beginners. You need to boost your vocabulary, learn verb conjugation, and basic grammar first. The Genki series would be your best start and then pick this book up afterwards.
